5 Teas I'm Currently Enjoying

Dear Joyous Readers,

While I’m not a coffee drinker, I don’t have anything against it either, as you might have guessed if you’ve seen my video. I’m definitely more of a tea enthusiast. I always keep my home and office stocked with a diverse selection of teas, including my favorites: Joyous Detox Tea and Joyous Rejuvenate Tea. Lately, I’ve been enjoying teas from Pukka, Yogi, and Kusmi, and I’ve recently discovered Steeped Tea, which offers some lovely certified organic blends.

In the video below, I share five teas that I’m currently loving.

**Pukka Lemongrass & Ginger**
This tea is fresh and uplifting, making it perfect for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up. Plus, it tastes great! It’s wonderful for digestion, boosts circulation, and has strong anti-inflammatory properties. Made from 100% organically grown ingredients, it contains 48% lemongrass and 28% ginger root, along with licorice, lemon verbena leaf, and lemongrass extract.

**Pukka Three Tulsi**
This blend features green, purple, and lemon tulsi, designed to uplift and restore. Tulsi is rich in the antioxidant eugenol, which helps protect the heart by managing blood pressure and maintaining healthy cholesterol levels.

**Yogi Tea**
Green tea is packed with EGCG, a powerful polyphenol that can neutralize free radicals and may protect cells against the development of cancer. It provides a great immune boost to help your body fight off disease. This blend also includes three types of echinacea root for immune support. Historically, Native Americans used echinacea for a wide range of health benefits, including fighting infections. It also contains elderberry, which has been used in traditional European medicine for respiratory and immune support. While on my book tour out west, I drank this tea to keep my immunity up—and it worked!

**Steeped Tea Rooibos**
Rooibos, or “red bush,” is a caffeine-free tea from South Africa. It’s high in antioxidants like aspalathin and nothofagin, which help prevent disease. The tea’s phenolic compounds, such as flavanols, flavones, and dihydrochalcones, are great for preventing cardiovascular disease due to their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.

**Kusmi BB Detox Tea**
Around since 1867, BB stands for Beauty Beverage, which is fitting given its green tea content. Green tea is rich in polyphenols, which protect against free radical damage and environmental pollutants that can lead to aging. The EGCG in green tea has been shown to boost metabolism and aid weight loss. This tea also contains dandelion, one of my favorite detox herbs, known for its diuretic and liver-cleansing properties. A healthy liver can result in clear, radiant skin.

### Where to Buy?

You can find most of these teas at your local health food store or in the health food section of your grocery store. If not, try searching the brand names online for a store locator. I bought my Pukka teas at Nature’s Fare in BC and have seen them at Essence of Life, a health food store in Toronto. Yogi teas are available at major grocery chains like Loblaws. The Kusmi BB Detox tea is at the Detox Market in Toronto or online, and Steeped Tea can be found online too.

Happy tea sipping!
Joy

If you’re in Toronto, Pukka teas are often available at Winners, such as the locations on Spadina Ave and Front Street, and at Nutrition House locations. I love the Pukka detox tea and recommend drinking a cup every day! Steeped Tea lists “natural flavors” in their ingredients; does anyone know what these flavors are and if they’re safe? Feel free to share your thoughts!

Some Pukka teas can also be found at Loblaws and stores like Ambrosia Natural Foods and Noah’s Natural Foods. I highly recommend the Pukka cleanse tea for its skin benefits. It even helped me during an allergic reaction!

Glad to share this info with you all. I personally prefer certified organic teas, but it’s always interesting to learn more about ingredient labeling, so I’ll reach out to Steeped Tea for some clarification.

[…] I’m excited to try all these teas now. […]

I’m a big fan of Pukka tea! Their nighttime tea and Three Tulsi are my favorites. I just bought my first tin of Kusmi tea as well, and I took your suggestion by trying the BB Detox. It’s delicious! I’m enjoying a cup at work as I write this. Thanks for all the fantastic tea recommendations!
