7 Creative Uses for Body Butter

For the past nine years, the only product I’ve used on my skin is our Hello Joyous Body Butter. It’s also the sole product, apart from plain coconut oil, that I’ve applied to Vienna’s skin since her birth! As one of my top picks from the Hello Joyous Shop, I’d love to share seven fantastic ways to use our Body Butter, showcasing just how versatile it truly is.

### 7 Ways to Use Body Butter

1. **Moisturize Your Whole Body**

When applied all over, it makes your skin glow—I’ve seen it work wonders myself! My skin feels incredibly soft and supple afterwards. This luxurious mix includes mango, shea, and cocoa butters along with Canadian superfoods like Chaga and propolis, resulting in deep skin nourishment.

I regularly use this Body Butter to moisturize, or at least every time I shower, which is almost daily! I appreciate the fragrance-free nature, as the only scent comes from nourishing raw ingredients like cocoa butter.

Plus, it absorbs quickly, so you won’t find it rubbing off on your clothes like pure coconut oil can. And if you accidentally get a bit on your clothing, it washes out easily.

I especially apply more on dry spots like my feet and hands and always carry a small jar with me to use after washing my hands in public! Although it’s great from head to toe (even my hair, as you’ll see), I avoid using it on my face since it’s too rich for me. Here’s a blog post about my skincare routine.

It’s the only product I used on my growing belly during my pregnancy with Vienna, and I didn’t get any stretch marks.

2. **Prevent Stretch Marks During Pregnancy**

While expecting Vienna in 2015, I applied it to my belly daily. It relieved itchiness during the second and third trimesters—a real savior for many expecting moms! I didn’t end up with stretch marks (hooray!), and that smoothie you see me with is this one—I was all about smoothies then!

3. **Soothe Diaper Rash on Babies**

Completely free from harmful chemicals, this Body Butter is safe for babies and children, leaving skin smooth and soft. Every bath with Vienna was followed up with this body butter!

When Vienna was in diapers, every diaper change—whether for pee or poop—was followed by this or coconut oil. Still, these are the only products we’ve ever used on her skin, besides sunscreen. We successfully avoided diaper rash, likely due to the Body Butter’s anti-fungal properties.

4. **Ease Eczema-Prone Skin**

Having dealt with eczema all my life, I created the Eczema Healing Kit to help others. Testimonials from users highlight how it alleviated both their and their children’s eczema. This isn’t surprising, as shea butter is known for its rich fatty acids, Vitamin A, and E, all aiding in skin nourishment and regeneration, along with healing dry, itchy skin.

5. **Control Frizz and Flyaways**

Aside from shampoo, conditioner, and dry shampoo, this is the only other product I use for my hair. In winter, when my hair gets dry from the indoor heat, I apply body butter to the ends. It works wonders for my mother-in-law’s white hair, too, making it silky and smooth! Use sparingly if you’re new, as a little goes a long way.

6. **Use as Lip Balm**

To prevent dryness from matte lipsticks, I apply a bit of body butter on my lips. Even without lipstick, it’s a go-to for quick moisture! I also enjoy a Homemade Lip Scrub and a DIY Lip Balm for added moisture.

7. **As an Aftershave**

With fast hair growth, especially in summer, shaving often leaves my skin dry as natural oils are stripped away. I apply body butter after shaving for silky, smooth legs all day long.

These are just seven ways to enjoy our Hello Joyous Body Butter! Not only is it animal-testing-free and USDA-certified organic, but each ingredient serves a useful purpose with no harm—only the promise of moisturizing, healing, and nourishing skin.
