JUMP TO RECIPE
I’m a huge fan of brunch, which you probably gathered from the many recipes in my cookbooks and on my blog. Breakfast really sets the tone for the day, so why not make it both nourishing and delicious? You deserve both!
Let me introduce you to your new favorite dish: Baked Apple French Toast. It has everything you love about French Toast, with a soft, eggy base and a crunchy top. The natural sweetness from the apples and raisins makes it a perfect blend of textures and flavors. You can decide if you want to add a little extra sweetness with some maple syrup when you serve it.
This is a healthier version of French Toast! The secret is in the bread, right? I’m using Stonemill’s Sourdough Multigrain Rye, a naturally fermented bread that’s perfect for this recipe.
This unique twist on French toast is great for breakfast, brunch, or even dessert! Just combine all the ingredients in a baking dish and pop it in the oven for an easy, no-fuss delight that will impress everyone.

I highly recommend making the Coconut Whipped Cream, as it adds a creamy texture and healthy fats. Enjoy!

OMG! Thank you, Joy! I saw you make this on IG last week and was looking everywhere for the recipe. I was thrilled to see it in my inbox this morning! It looks and sounds amazing. I can’t wait to try it this weekend!
Thank you for all your wonderful, healthy recipes. xo
So happy to hear you found it! Enjoy!
This was a big hit. My entire family loved it. I’m not much of a baker, but it was super easy. I made it for brunch and plan to make it again this weekend for dessert. Delicious!
I’m thrilled your family enjoyed it!!
I made this lovely dish for brunch over Thanksgiving weekend, and everyone loved it. I couldn’t find the multigrain rye, so I used Stonemill Flax and something. It was delicious. Thank you so much again, Joy.
Glad to hear it was a hit, Jennifer! Thanks for sharing!
Any recommendations for gluten-free bread?
Little Northern Bakery or Thornbury are both great GF brands.
Thank you!
Can it be frozen?
Glad you enjoyed it! The apples might turn mushy after thawing, so freezing may not be the best option for this recipe.
