JUMP TO RECIPE
You all know how much I love my turmeric lattes! I’ve tried so many variations, from my Lazy Lady Latte to the Super Easy Turmeric Ginger Tea, and even the Turmeric Latte in The Joyous Cookbook. Now, I’ve got a new one for you, and it’s unique!
Since it’s winter and I’m a fan of spicy foods and drinks, I’ve turned up the heat on this recipe by adding black pepper and cayenne. It’s quite amusing how many people notice when I skip black pepper in turmeric recipes. But don’t worry, I explain why at 6:05 in the video for those curious!
This turmeric collagen spicy latte is creamy, spicy (I know I just mentioned that already, ha!) and absolutely delicious! It gives me all the good vibes as I sip this nourishing and comforting drink. While I’ve shared turmeric’s health benefits before, let’s focus on the addition of collagen this time!
Collagen offers many health benefits. I prefer using unflavored collagen for this recipe, but bovine works too. Just a heads up, there’s no vegan option for collagen since it’s derived from fish or animals.
This Turmeric Collagen Spicy Latte is…
Simply blend everything in a high-power blender! If you’re out of coconut butter, feel free to skip it and swap in some non-dairy milk. I’ve included those instructions in the recipe card below.
Here’s the recipe for my Turmeric Collagen Spicy Latte, and you can watch the video below. It serves 2.
This recipe is like a burst of sunshine! Just be careful not to spill it anywhere as it can stain, though your teeth are safe!
Let me know if you have any questions or comments about this recipe!
Can’t wait to give this a try! By the way, can you remind me how to get stains out of the blender?
Thanks, this is fantastic and very effective. I also have other natural remedies.

Here are a couple of methods: place half a lemon with hot water in your blender and blend for a minute, try running it through the dishwasher, or leave it in the sunlight, though it might be too cold where you live. Hope that helps!
I live just north of Toronto with plenty of snow still! So I’ll go with the lemon method. Thanks!
You’re welcome! Good luck!
This sounds delicious, and I can’t wait to try it – thank you! I might skip the collagen since it causes breakouts for me. Have you heard of this before? Any advice? Thank you, Joy!
I haven’t heard of that before. Maybe you’re sensitive to something in the product, rather than the collagen itself.
Okay, thanks, I’ll look into that!
Just a quick note: fish are animals, too! I know it might sound nitpicky, but it’s an important distinction. Love your content, though, and this recipe looks tasty! Would you consider doing a post on different collagen brands and which are high-quality and ethical? I’m curious about starting collagen supplements, and such a guide would be helpful!
Thanks for pointing that out! Genuine Health offers sustainably-sourced collagen. More details are linked above in the post.
I just made this without the pepper and cayenne. It was so good!! Thanks so much for the recipe!
You’re welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!
I made this today—it was lovely. Thank you!
Happy to hear that!!
I love this Turmeric Latte. Could you give an approximate calorie count? Just a ballpark estimate is fine. Thanks!
Hi Barb, I don’t usually count calories and don’t recommend it. You could use a fitness app for an accurate count.
I’m sensitive to ginger. Any substitute recommendations? Maybe cinnamon?
Between marine and bovine collagen, the choice is based on personal preference. Research shows they’re quite similar.
You could either leave it out or use cinnamon as a great alternative. Enjoy!
I remember spending so much money on hospital treatments hoping to cure my herpes infection, but nothing worked. Then I learned about a doctor curing herpes with herbal medicine, I gave it a shot, and now I believe herbal remedies are the best solution for STDs, STIs, and other health-threatening diseases/infections. You can get help from Dr. Akhere Herbal Home by calling or WhatsApp at 2347085994115 or visiting his website (http://drakhereherbalhome.wixsite.com/website). Just like I did. Good luck to everyone.

I made this today, and I also made spicy hot chocolate yesterday. I love the warmth of these spices. I’m usually bored by tea, but these are delicious! And yes, turmeric stains are worse than beet!
Glad you loved it, and yes, those turmeric stains are quite stubborn!
I love this. When is a good time to drink this tea during the day? Thank you!
Anytime works!
Hi Joy, you once featured a naturopath on a podcast who specializes in thyroid issues. Could you share her contact info?
Hi Roseanne! Here’s a link to the podcast and contact info for Lisa Weeks: https://www.joyoushealth.com/27524-blog-ep-51-a-natural-approach-to-thyroid-disorders-with-dr-lisa-weeks
Thank you very much, Joy.
Hi Joy, you recommended a turmeric supplement in a past blog post. I can’t find it and it was great for my arthritis pain. I left it in the US, and now my fingers are aching again. Thanks.
Check out New Chapter Fermented Turmeric—I think you can find it at Healthy Planet. There’s also Thorne. There are many great brands, so try your local health food store.
