Enhancing Your Skin: The Power of Turmeric Honey Paste and Superfoods

Recently, I had the pleasure of interviewing skin care expert Graydon Moffat about her favorite skin care ingredients you can use at home. We talked about some fantastic superfoods that are perfect not only for eating but also for applying to your skin – it’s like feeding your skin from the outside!

In the chat, Graydon showed me how to make a versatile turmeric paste, which has several beauty applications. If you’ve tried my Turmeric Honey Soother to combat or ward off colds, you’re in luck because you probably have everything you need to whip up this beauty recipe she demonstrates in the video.

Although we both love turmeric, we didn’t just focus on it; we explored various beauty superfoods. You can watch my video interview with Graydon and explore these superfoods further below:

*Make sure to choose high-quality, preferably organic, turmeric for the best health benefits.
**Note: If you have fair skin, using highly potent turmeric might temporarily stain your skin.

Consider adding one of the superfoods listed below if you’re planning to use the paste as a mask. It’s also effective on insect bites, inflamed dry skin, and eczema.

**Beauty Superfoods**

– **Turmeric:** Known for its powerful healing properties due to its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant-rich nature. The key component, curcumin, gives it its bright yellow-orange color and offers anti-inflammatory benefits comparable to some powerful drugs, but without the side effects. Turmeric enhances liver detoxification, which benefits skin health. That’s why I always recommend drinking lemon water to support your liver daily.

– **Raw Honey, especially Manuka Honey:** This delicious and health-boosting honey is a must-have in your kitchen for its antibacterial properties. It’s excellent for fighting acne and soothing inflamed skin. I especially love using manuka honey in the dry winter months because it draws moisture into my skin. It’s also great during the cold and flu season to boost your immunity.

– **Avocado:** Avocado is a wonderful, buttery superfood rich in good fats that supports beautiful skin from the inside out and can be used topically. Years ago, adding healthy fats like avocado improved my skin dramatically, and I’ve seen it help my clients too. Combining avocado with turmeric honey paste makes a super hydrating face mask.

Have you tried my Matcha Avocado Mask yet? Discover more about its benefits by watching the full video, where you’ll learn about other superfood ingredients too.

Graydon offers an impressive range of products for hair and body. I’ve tried several, and my top picks are the Face Food spray and the Serum.

If you have any questions, feel free to post them below. Thanks to Graydon for joining me at Joyous HQ to film this video!

Have a joyous day!

**Q&A with Joyous Health Team**

– Fresh lemon vs. fresh lime juice? Both are great, but lemons have more vitamin C.

**Tara, PCP, CHN, PT:** Limes are a great substitute when you run out of lemons. I love your skin care posts!

**Kiren:** Turmeric is anti-inflammatory, so it might help with psoriasis itchiness, though it’s not specifically for that. Consider a remedy designed for itching relief.

**Anonymous:** I used creamed honey for the paste; it’s milky and doesn’t stain like powdered turmeric might. Adding matcha is a great idea for extra antioxidants. It’s great for acne!

**Bernadette:** Surprising as it might sound, Joy keeps it simple by using just Green Beaver shampoo—no conditioner or fancy treatments.

**Helen:** Glad you enjoy the site! For age spots, try the Clear Skin Advanced Spot Treatment from Province Apothecary.
