Exploring Beautiful British Columbia During the CHFA Show

Exploring Beautiful British Columbia During the CHFA Show

I’m really thrilled to be writing this post from a café in Vancouver, with the majestic mountains right in front of me. It’s quite an amazing experience! I’m here as a spokesperson for the Canadian Health Food Association (CHFA), and that’s me with their Director of Communications, Michelle. It’s such an honor because they’re truly a fantastic organization.

This past weekend, I attended the CHFA West trade show, which brought me to Vancouver and also to join Global BC News at noon. The trade show was an incredible gathering of health and organic experts, featuring everything from supplements to food to personal care products. Thanks to the generous exhibitors, I have plenty of samples to try over the coming months.

I was blown away by the new innovations and noticed a few emerging trends, particularly in detox, stress, and sleep. Natural beauty (focusing on beauty from the inside out) and incorporating supplements into food are other trends I’m excited about, as you might guess from my posts on topics like coco bliss balls and natural beauty.

For some of my Spring tips, you can check them out on the CHFA website:

Before I wrap up, I have to tell you about the amazing breakfast I had on Saturday morning, thanks to a friend’s suggestion. I went to Aphrodite’s Organic Café in Kitsilano. I enjoyed an almond milk cappuccino and an organic spelt blueberry muffin, which you can see below (and finished for breakfast today).

I also had a basic eggs and toast breakfast. The bread was homemade with all organic ingredients, reminding me of the Beet Café in Toronto. It was charming and quaint. My server was delightful and eager for me to try their famous pie.

I had a few bites of the pie when I got back to the hotel this afternoon, and it was absolutely delicious—WOW!

The next photo is from my walk back towards downtown Vancouver. I’ve never smelled air as fresh as I did that day. It was one of the most rejuvenating mornings I can recall. The blend of fresh flowers and sea salt in the air was incredible. I felt like I had just come back from a spa when I returned to my hotel room.

Now I understand why people rave about the fresh air here!

Stay joyful,
Joy

Aphrodite’s is the BEST! LOVE that place!! Everyone there is so healthy and inspiring!

I’m so glad you enjoyed the West Coast, Joy! I’m originally from Ontario, from a small town called Elmira, just over an hour from Toronto. I’ve been living in Whistler for almost four years now, and I can vouch for how healing and detoxifying the mountain air is! Glad you experienced the freshness too. I just began working at the health food store in Whistler and unfortunately missed the CHFA event… would have loved to meet you in person!
