There are so many products at department stores that promise to give you a radiant look and slow down aging. But here’s my philosophy: if it’s something safe to eat, then it’s safe to put on your skin. Most lotions, creams, and masks are definitely not edible and are packed with chemicals. Yuck!
That’s why I came up with a simple moisturizing and anti-aging face mask using just three ingredients: avocado, organic matcha, and almond milk. Wondering why I chose these? Let me explain:
**Avocado:**
– Avocados are incredibly moisturizing, packed with nearly 85% fat content.
– They are water-rich, making them very hydrating.
– Avocados are a great source of Vitamin C, providing antioxidant benefits to fight premature aging by neutralizing free radicals.
**Matcha Green Tea:**
– Matcha has over 500% more antioxidants than goji berries and is one of the most potent superfoods.
– It offers ten times the nutritional benefits compared to regular green tea.
– Rich in polyphenols, matcha assists in preventing wrinkles, inflammation, and even cancer.
**Almond Milk:**
– It’s an excellent way to hydrate your skin as it’s mostly water.
– Almond milk is a great source of beautifying Vitamin E, an antioxidant known for protecting the skin from sun damage and cancer.
**Ingredients for the Anti-Aging Mask:**
– 1 ripe avocado
– 1 teaspoon matcha tea
– 1/2 cup almond milk
Blend all three ingredients in a food processor until smooth, which takes less than 30 seconds. Apply this mix to your face and leave it on for at least 10-15 minutes. It’s cooling, refreshing, and moisturizing. This recipe is enough for two applications, so feel free to share!
Here’s a photo of me after using the mask. Even without mascara or blush (yes, I’m Irish, and we love our blush), my skin feels like silk now! I would love for you to try this mask and share your thoughts.
Do you have a favorite kitchen ingredient that you use for beauty?
Wishing you joy,

Wow, Joy! Your natural beauty shines through! You truly don’t need any makeup at all. Your glowing skin must be thanks to this amazing mask! Avocado has always been my mom’s beauty secret too, though I haven’t tried it with matcha yet. I’ll definitely give that a go and also use avocado in my hair for added moisture—it leaves it so smooth!
Thanks for the inspiration! Let me know if you try it out. I need to gather a few ingredients first but I’m excited to give it a shot! I’ll keep you posted on how it goes.
This mask looks wonderful! I love using matcha in my smoothies for its antioxidant benefits, and I’m thrilled to try it on my skin. I’ll definitely give this mask a try this weekend—I expect it’ll feel so refreshing on my face!
My 12-year-old and I tried it tonight. Our skin feels so smooth now! With proper guidance and a skincare routine like this, you’ll have a lifetime of beautiful skin.

Hi Joy,
I’ve tried the avocado, coconut oil, and honey mask before, and I love it! I’m looking forward to trying this one. I adore almond milk! What do you think about a combination of avocado, honey, and coconut oil?
You have gorgeous skin, by the way!
Thanks,
Laura
Thank you, Laura! That sounds lovely. Honey is also very hydrating. Let me know how it goes, and thank you for the kind words!
Hi Joy!
I’m thrilled to have discovered your website—it’s fantastic! Here in Spain, there’s a growing trend towards natural and organic beauty. I make my own moisturizers and eye creams using natural ingredients including matcha green tea, which is not just a super cosmetic, but a healthy drink as well. I often mix it with orange juice—it’s delicious! I’ll send you my beauty recipes soon.
Thanks,
Noelia
Hi Joy, the mask is wonderful, but I end up with leftovers. Can I store it in the fridge for a few days?
Hi Ann,
The avocado in the mask will begin to oxidize and lose its benefits quickly, so I recommend using it immediately to get the most out of its nutrients.
Best,
Kate – Joyous Health Team

Great post! Avocado is one of my favorite fruits because its healthy fats not only moisturize but also reduce skin inflammation. I’m definitely going to try this recipe. Thanks for sharing!
