Three DIY Lip Scrub Recipes

Three DIY Lip Scrub Recipes

Spring has officially arrived on the calendar, but it doesn’t seem like it here in Toronto with the chilly weather. Still, I’m getting a little pep in my step knowing that warmer days are ahead. Since we’re all staying home to stay safe from COVID-19, you might be looking for a fun DIY project. Why not try making my revitalizing lip scrub recipes to brighten up your routine?

These scrubs not only leave your lips feeling silky smooth but also work wonders on your hands by removing dead skin!

I’ve kept the first recipe really simple so you likely have all the ingredients right at home. If you’re missing anything, you can easily find these items online. I’ve included links to my favorite brands below.

You’ll find the basic instructions in my video and printable recipe cards beneath it. The first recipe is super straightforward. You just need sugar, coconut oil, and essential oil.

**Citrus Lip Scrub**

Next up is the Peppermint Lip Scrub, where I’ve added honey for its wonderful hydrating benefits. Honey is a natural magnet for moisture, and olive oil offers nourishing fatty acids and antioxidants. Even Cleopatra was a fan!

**Peppermint Lip Scrub**
*If your honey has crystallized, just warm it a bit on the stove so it’s liquid and ready to mix with the other ingredients.

Finally, we have the Chocolate Lip Scrub featuring raw cacao powder. It’s so delicious, you might want to lick it right off your lips! I doubled the recipe so there’s plenty for your hands too. In fact, all three scrubs are fantastic for making your hands soft.

**Chocolate Lip Scrub**
I made extra of this one because it makes a great scrub for hands and feet as well.

**How to use it:**
For your lips, put a pea-sized amount on your finger and gently massage your lips for about a minute. Then, wipe it off with a cloth and moisturize with your favorite natural lip balm or body butter.

For hands or feet, use a quarter-sized amount, rub gently, rinse off with water, and follow up with body butter to moisturize.

Here are some of my favorite brands to help you get started:
– Acropolis Extra-Virgin Olive Oil
– Nutiva Coconut Oil
– Organic Cane Sugar
– Beekeeper’s Honey

I hope you try out these scrubs on your lips, hands, and even your feet!

**Q&A:**

– Yes, absolutely!

– **Can I use regular sugar if I don’t have organic cane sugar?**
– Yes, you can. Enjoy!

– Using them once a week is perfect!
