Three Must-Have Eco-Friendly Beauty Products for the Gym

**By Guest Blogger: Seanna Cohen**

I make working out a regular part of my week because I see the amazing benefits it brings to my health and overall wellness—and, of course, my beach body! However, I always face two challenges at the gym: my bag is way too heavy, and I’m always short on time. If you can relate, here are three eco-friendly beauty essentials that will help you look your best while saving time in the locker room and freeing up space in your gym bag.

**Jojoba Oil**

It’s essential to remove makeup before working out, but you don’t need to carry around a whole cleansing routine. A small bottle of 100% pure jojoba oil can work as a makeup remover, cleanser, and moisturizer. With a low comedogenic rating of two, jojoba oil is quite similar to your skin’s natural oil, so it won’t clog your pores, making it suitable for all skin types.

**Yarok – Feed Your Ends**

When you’re in a hurry to squeeze in a workout during lunch or after work, washing and styling your hair isn’t always an option. Yarok’s “Feed Your Ends” is a leave-in conditioner containing nourishing oils like olive, grape seed, and apricot. This versatile product is perfect for your gym bag. After a shower, spray a little on your hair to refresh and reduce frizz, especially in the summer. If you do have time to style, it also works as a silicone-free heat protector.

**Witch Hazel Toner**

Working out in tight, often synthetic clothing can leave skin feeling congested. Keep a small spray bottle of witch hazel mixed with clarifying essential oils handy. Tea tree oil is effective due to its antiseptic properties, but it can be harsh on sensitive skin and has a strong scent. A great alternative is Graydon’s “Germs Away,” which blends antimicrobial essential oils like clove, lavender, and eucalyptus. You can also make your own spray by adding 5-10 drops of pure essential oils to pure distilled witch hazel in a small glass bottle.

Witch hazel is a natural astringent, making this spray ideal for use on your chest or back after a workout, especially if you’re prone to breakouts or can’t shower immediately. It serves as a mild disinfectant and deodorizer (nobody wants to be the smelly person at the gym!) and can soothe razor burn, rashes, and even reduce swelling or bruising. It’s a versatile beauty essential!

Using these tips can clear up conditions like rosacea and acne, leading to healthier-looking skin. Yellow-based products often appear more natural on the skin than pink-toned ones. For styling, a large curling iron can add waves to your hair.

I’ve made my own witch hazel spray with tea tree and lavender essential oils for after the gym, and it really refreshes my skin! Thanks for the suggestion!
