Tips for Enhancing Beauty Inside and Out

Tips for Enhancing Beauty Inside and Out

Happy Weekend, Everyone!

I’m currently relaxing on my couch, enjoying some white tea and savoring a bit of Vega Maca chocolate—pure bliss! As you might guess, I’m at home and feeling quite happy about it.

Over the past two weeks, I was on a media tour with the Canadian Health Food Association, traveling across Western Canada and Southern Ontario. It was a delightful experience sharing my holistic beauty tips inside and out. If you missed catching the segment in your city, you can catch the one from Ottawa here:

This Monday, I’ll be on the Global Morning Show in Toronto at 7:40 am EST to share these tips. Tune in if you can!

One of my favorite beauty secrets is coconut oil. I’ve talked a lot about its benefits in blog posts and YouTube videos. Here’s how I incorporate coconut oil into my beauty routine:

1. **Tame Frizz:** Melt a pea-sized amount of coconut oil in your hands and apply it to the ends of your hair, then lightly throughout to avoid greasiness. If you have fine hair, use even less. Bonus: Coconut oil is free from chemicals.

2. **Deep Conditioning Scalp Treatment:** If your scalp gets dry in cooler months, apply coconut oil at night, massaging it into your scalp. Bonus: Its anti-fungal properties help with dandruff. Remember to wash your hair the next day.

3. **Luxurious Facial Treatment:** After cleansing, apply coconut oil to your face and neck. It’s great for cuticles, too. It absorbs easily, so no greasy pillow worries. Bonus: It doesn’t clog pores and is anti-microbial, making it perfect for acne-prone skin.

4. **Dry Feet:** My feet used to be so cracked, but coconut oil plus vitamin D changed that. Apply generously to your feet at bedtime. Keep it up for two weeks to see big improvements.

Hi Joy,

I caught your video on vitamin D for winter but couldn’t catch the supplement names. Could you share them?

Thank you!

Hi Joy,

I’ve started using coconut oil too. My previous jar became grainy and itchy during summer. My new one is fine, though. Any ideas why the last one was off?

Loved your tips on Morning Live and plan to buy coconut oil today! Healing my skin has been enlightening. I found a new favorite in Ecco Bella products—have you tried them?

I’ve seen Ecco Bella but haven’t tried it yet. What’s your favorite product from them?

Hi Joy,

I love the organic mist toner, eye cream at night, and the SPF 15 day cream from Ecco Bella. I switched after a reaction to another brand, and now I adore their entire line!

How does sunflower petal oil compare to coconut oil for acne? I heard coconut oil is great because it doesn’t clog pores.

Hi Jen,

It’s possible that the dryness and flakiness might be due to eczema. You might consider using a herbal eczema cream. Joy recommends this one: [Joyous Health Eczema Kit](https://www.joyoushealth.com/36-jhapproved-province-apothecary-heal-eczema-kit).
