We’re living through really unusual times right now. I’m trying to stay calm and often remind myself, like my grandmother used to say, that “this too shall pass.” I make a point to give Vienna, who’s just 4 years old, lots of extra hugs. She’s trying to understand what’s happening, although we’ve tried explaining, but she really misses her teachers and friends.
We’re all experiencing this together, and there’s so much we can do to foster positivity. That’s why I wanted to create this video. I know our brains are hardwired to focus on negativity—it’s human nature. While this can sometimes be useful for assessing situations and making smart choices, it doesn’t help when we start viewing everything pessimistically. I’ve been down that path myself.
My concerns right now include juggling parenting, running our business, and potentially adding “teacher” to my list of responsibilities if Vienna’s school doesn’t reopen in April. I’m sure you have your own worries, too. Staying positive takes real effort, but it’s so important right now.
So, I’d like to share how Walker and I are staying positive every day. I hope these ideas help you too!

Thank you for sharing these uplifting reminders during such challenging times. My grandparents lived through the 1918 pandemic, supporting their community with whatever they had. Times are different now, but we can still get through this together by staying positive.

Glad to make a difference! Thanks for watching!
Hey Joy, I was listening to your podcast about overcoming anxiety in public speaking. You mentioned meditation, and I’d love to hear more about how you started with it. It’s something I know is beneficial but feels a bit mysterious and challenging.
Hi Jennifer! Thank you for asking—you’re not the first to inquire. I’ll definitely do a post or video about my meditation journey. It’s funny how essential it’s become in my daily routine. Thanks for inspiring me to share more about it.
